1 1/2 C. vegetable oil
2 C. sugar
3 large eggs
2 tsp. vanilla
3 C. chopped apples
1 C. chopped nuts
3 C. flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. allspice
1/4 tsp. nutmeg
1 tsp. salt
For topping:
4 TBSP. butter
1 C. brown sugar
1/4 C. milk
Grease and flour a 9x13 pan.
Sift dry ingredients together.
Beat oil, sugar, eggs and vanilla together. Add dry mixture to wet ingredients. Beat in apples and nuts. Pour into baking pan.
Bake at 350 degrees for about one hour.
Just before cake is done bring topping ingredients to a boil and cook for 2-3 minutes.
Remove cake from oven and stab top of cake with fork tines. Pour boiled topping over cake while cake is still hot.
