Darryl was one of two orange tabbies in his litter, both who were originally named 'Darryl'. Since the two orange tabbies looked exactly alike to us, we named them 'Darryl and Darryl', a reference from the Bob Newhart Show a few years back: "This is my brother Darryl and this is my other brother Darryl".
